Port Saeed Community Development - Dubai, UAE

This was the winning proposal for a limited competition to design a 5,000,000 sq ft development on a prominent site adjacent to Dubai Creek. The design brief called for a hotel complex with conference and recreation facilities and a variety of residential dwellings.

The use of curvilinear built forms results in a maximization of the waterfront thereby increasing the economic viability of the scheme. A cylindrical 53-story residential tower enjoys commanding views of the creek and to the city beyond, and also serves to provide the community with a new landmark.

At the heart of the project lies the Sunken Garden, a public park and plaza which comprises a palm grove, a convention centre underneath reflecting pool roofs, and a sports club with amenities.

This project is currently in design development.
